Saakib Jauhar-Rizvi is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), with over ten years of experience in the mental health field. Saakib has worked in a variety of locations, including public and therapeutic schools, hospitals, emergency rooms, groups homes, and clinical offices. This experience has allowed Saakib to work with people from a variety of backgrounds, including age, gender, race, ethnicity, and culture.
Saakib earned his Master’s Degree from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology where he specialized in Clinical Counseling and graduated with honors. Saakib leans towards a solution-focused and strength-based modality that strives not only to address the negative symptoms but also to explore and understand the underlying reasoning for the issue.
He has expertise and experience working with those who struggle with depression, anxiety, self-harm, eating disorders, behavioral struggles, bullying issues, and family conflict. Saakib believes that the client-therapist rapport is key to any successful treatment and strives to build that rapport from day one and meet the person where they are at.
Saakib’s therapeutic approach is known to be easy going and relaxed, offering a safe space for individuals and their families to explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment. Saakib often uses humor, when appropriate, to help ease people and adolescents into therapy.
Saakib believes that as long as there is a spark of hope within someone, they are capable of great things and is known for his optimistic approach when it comes to people and their struggles.
