Gina Picchiotti
Gina is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with experience treating adults and adolescents, from many backgrounds and with many conditions. Whether coming to therapy as an individual, couple, or family, or group – clients will feel understood and supported and can look forward to meaningful progress towards their goals.
Working hard to understand a client’s worldview and circumstance, Gina believes the best therapeutic work occurs in a collaborative environment where clients feel safe and empowered. She lets clients set the pace and meets them where they are in their readiness for change. Using current strengths, gained insight, and new skills, clients can expect to make changes large and small – whatever it takes to feel more at ease in daily life.
Gina has expertise in utilizing a variety of evidenced based treatments including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure Response, and Prevention Therapy in order to assist her clients. Mindfulness is a cornerstone of Gina’s approach, and she incorporates an element of this into most sessions. Whether learning to “tune in” more closely to their needs or simply finding a few moments of peace in an overwhelming week, mindfulness practice has been associated with many positive outcomes.
Gina specializes in treating anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and trauma, but is just as adept at helping those without an identified mental illness adjust to the shifting landscape of their life. Gina received her masters and doctorate from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology.
