Sarah Lloyd, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) has an eclectic approach to therapy, utilizing various styles that are needed by her clients to overcome and grow through a particular challenge they are experiencing.
Overall, Sarah leans towards a very goal-orientated style that incorporates the family system when available. Especially when working with children and adolescents, Sarah believes in the importance of supporting the entire family to address the presenting issues. Sarah specializes in treatment for addictions, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, managing stress, relational conflict resolution, communication problems, grief, and loss, adjusting to difficult experiences, and transitioning from crisis to stability. Children, adolescent, young adult, and women issues are Sarah’s specialty, but she also has extensive experience working with adults.
Sarah has worked at a women’s counseling center, addictions treatment programs, a children’s therapeutic program, a community mental health center, an Equine Assisted Psychotherapy company, a school, and she has been in private practice since 2008. Sarah Lloyd has experience working within the school setting, giving her a thorough understanding of how to manage and reduce the barriers related to academic achievement. Sarah will spend the initial and subsequent sessions understanding the reason for your visit and formulating a plan to address the problem.
