Theresa Shore
Theresa Shore is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with professional experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in an individual and group setting.
Theresa received her Master’s in Social Work from UIC-Jane Addams College of Social Work, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Aurora University.
After starting her career working with children and families impacted by abuse and domestic violence, Theresa realized her passion for working more closely with children and adolescents as they developed an understanding of their place in the world.
Theresa has spent over a decade working as a School Social Worker, partnering with students, families, the school system, and the greater community to provide direct counseling support, advocacy, and resource partnering to foster independence and a sense of control for her clients.
Theresa’s foundation of practice is centered on a humanistic lens, focused on each person’s ability to grow, adapt, and change. Theresa looks at the systems at play in the client’s life to help uncover influences contributing to the presenting problem. In working with clients, it is accepted that they are the experts of their own lived experiences, and the therapist provides an unbiased, outside view and a specialized toolset to offer clients ways to take back control and initiate change in their troubling circumstances.
Theresa’s therapeutic approach is diverse, and she is committed to considering a client’s needs and mindset when suggesting and partnering on interventions.
