Barb Flanagan
Barb Flanagan, LPC, NCC (Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor), is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges while improving their mental health and well-being.
Life can feel overwhelming or unbearable, but you don’t have to face it alone. Healing is not only possible—it’s within reach. There’s nothing wrong with you; your nervous system is simply trying to protect you, and by working together, we can uncover and release old patterns no longer serving you.
Barb takes a holistic and integrative approach, with specialties in trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship challenges, ADHD, and life transitions. She incorporates neuroscience, somatic, attachment-based, and experiential insights to help clients understand the connection between the mind and body.
Barb’s goal is to help clients recognize their strength and resilience as she supports them in uncovering their innate ability to heal and grow. Her approach is client-centered, strengths-based, and culturally sensitive, honoring each client’s unique background and personal story. Together, Barb collaborates with her clients to provide tools and insights to break old patterns and explore new possibilities.
Everyone deserves to feel empowered, to make choices that align with who you are, and to live a life that feels authentic to you. If you need support in this journey, Barb is here, ready to offer guidance and belief in your ability to heal—until you can fully believe it yourself.
Barb is a seasoned professional, a business owner, a wife, and a mother of two adult children. Her diverse experiences have shaped her empathetic and understanding approach. She earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bradley University and holds an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School.
